About hybridartprojects
Christopher Columbus was in fact trying to find a westward sea passage to
the Orient when he landed in the New World in 1492. Believing that they
had reached India, the newcomers dubbed the natives "Indians".
This unintentional discovery was to change the course of world history.
I propose as director of hybridartprojects to further this crossover between
East and West in the highest degree of quality and creativity.
The distinctive way hybridartprojects will operate sets it apart from the
very beginning: it will have no regular and fixed location, no physical
space in which to present its exhibitions. Operating without the confines
and limitations of a physical space, this project-based platform focuses on
alternative methods of production, distribution and display. These
circumstances will make it uncommonly flexible and mobile.
Hybridartprojects is destined to be a nomadic venture which presents the
projects and exhibits of its artists in a diverse range of places, according
to their specific needs, in Buenos Aires and elsewhere. This uncommon
trademark will foster a level of constant creativity and innovation rooted
in the close collaboration of its artists, the director, and the guest curator
unseen in most parts of the gallery system. The fresh approach of
hybridartprojects will create an intense interest in this venture as well as
in the roster of talented Mesoamerican and Indian contemporary artists
I intend to represent.
